We understand the importance of having access to fresh, nutritious vegetables for everyone’s health. Our produce is grown right here, just miles from your own home, not trucked across thousands of miles losing vital nutrients along the way and causing mass amounts of pollution to be released into our environment. We are ever conscious of rising fuel costs and know we can provide great, fresh options from around the bend. We follow the ideas of J.I Rodale as outlined in his text “How to Grow Vegetables and Fruits by the Organic Method”. We use organic methods which allow us to bring you the healthiest produce possible. Below are several of our offerings; if you have a special request that you’d like us to grow for you, please call and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Our Crops
Our signature product – Baby Greens. More nutrient dense and, let’s say it, fun than iceberg lettuce, Baby Greens are a perfect base for any salad and work well in a myriad of other uses. Salad greens contain Vitamins A and C, calcium, fiber, beta-carotene, folate and phytonutrients. We start with the finest seed and our own blend of compost, topsoil and green sand to ensure our Baby Greens are growing in the best, nutrient rich soil around. Available fresh picked every day throughout the summer and fall.
We love, love, Love! Tomatoes. But not the red globes masquerading as tomatoes at the grocery store, we love farm fresh vine-ripened tomatoes. So much in fact that this year we are growing eleven different tomato varieties! From our old favorite, the provincial Marmande, to a new grape sized called Golden Honey Bunch and even a Thai variety, we strive to find the best tomatoes for our region. This year, we’ve expanded our options to include a couple early types.
In addition to the great vegetables highlighted above, we also grow head lettuce varieties in Romaine, Red Leaf and Butterhead, Radishes, Cucumbers, Slicing Tomatoes, Eggplant, Broccoli, Broccoli Rabe, three kinds of Beans (just to name a few!) and we are always open to your requests or recommendations. Our 2015 season will have even more produce options! We are growing over 40 varieties of vegetables!
